About us
Centre of Chemical Biology (formerly: Centre for High Throughput Screening Studies – at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS in Poznań, Poland) is an academic platform with advanced expertise and cutting-edge research infrastructure available for users from academia and industry to identify molecular tool and bioactive compounds and decipher their mechanisms of action for research and/or as a starting point for development of small molecules for practical applications. The highest standards of the work performed in the Centre is ensured by being a certified partner site of EU-OPENSCREEN-ERIC consortium and a member of a polish node: POL-OPENSCREEN. The Centre is led by dr Jacek L. Kolanowski and is composed of two specialized laboratories: Laboratory of Molecular Assays and Imaging (dr Dorota Kwiatek) and Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry (dr Dorota Jakubczyk). We also collaborate closely with other units at IBCH PAS and external academic and industrial partners to bring a wide range of expertise & technology in chemical, structural, cell and molecular biology as well as synthetic and analytical chemistry & AI-supported data analysis. In addition to providing expertise and infrastructure, we also work on development and testing of new technologies and equipment and provide consulting services and help by scientific support for a preparation of grant applications by our potential users (>60% success rate).
